Oye!!! So I made another motif. I actually found another granny square project I want to make —

Yep!!! That puppy right there! Ain’t it beautiful? I’m going to use it as my long term — One A Day project. I want to either do a throw pillow or an afghan!
To make sure I got the tutorial down pat, I tried the motif tonight and voila!
No! I’m not going to use those psychedelic colours. 😀 This is just practice but I’m pretty pleased with it. So much so, I’m going to dig some yarn out to start this tomorrow. 😀 The pattern says that before joining, the motif comes out more round than square but joining really opens the pattern up. I can’t wait!
On another note, it’s disgusting that staying in my pjs and crafting all day with some intermittent T.V watching and a three hour conversation with my mom has been my absolute best vacation day so far. 😀 Wish I could have more days like this.
I love granny squares! I keep thinking I need to bust out my crochet hook and use up some scrap yarn!
Oh and btw, staying in to craft in your pajamas totally rocks!! I do it all the time, and I feel no shame in it whatsoever!
You should do it! It’ll help you stash-bust and give you something pretty!
Girl, you ain’t said nothing but a word you hear me! LOLOL. I had such a blast pj-ing and crafting I’m going to try to build this in at least 2 days a month. 😀
It looks so great! You might be tempting to try out crochet again. I haven’t crocheted something since like 2002!
You should really pick it up again! I know you’re a knitting beast and crank projects out super fast, so the instant gratification might not mean as much to you as it does to me with my slow knitting self. 😀 I’ve only done it for the past two days since learning the basics in January and can I tell you how much I love it already? 🙂
I love too that use of modern yarn combos combined with vintage patterns gives that “not your grandmother’s crochet” look. I double dog dare you to try it. 😛
We’ll see. I’m not that fast of a knitter but I do remember crocheting to be faster. 🙂
It really is!
I stalk … errr … visit your blog every week so I’ll see if you pick it up. 🙂
It’s going to make a great afghan! I can’t wait to see what colours you choose. I’m all for pj crafting days myself! 🙂
I went through my stash last night and hit the mother lode! 😀 I can’t wait to show you guys what I found for this project!
I still don’t know if I’ll do an afghan or a throw pillow. I’ll check out my yardage today and maybe I’ll do both!!! 🙂
I really like those colors you used, the brighter the better, for me at least.
I haven’t worked on my granny squares for a while, but I’ll try to hook a few squares this weekend. I only posted my granny squares once, that was in a Finished object post which can be found here…

I guess I need to add more pictures, because I’ve added flowers to some of my squares since that time.
You should really post updates on this project. The colours are awesome and super happy. The flower addition must look great! What colour did you use for those?
I love too the inspiration piece. Fantabulous!!!
Sooo jealous of your craftcation. I could totally go for one of those right now. Every time I say “No, thanks” to the granny square making I see some cute project that gets me thinking twice. I should really pick up those hooks more often. I like that pillow and I happen to like your crazy psychedelic color selection also. 😉 -Nizzy
LOLOLOL!!! Girl, I had to make that happen. I was contacted EVERY day by people at work from Mon – Thurs and yesterday I decided not to respond by phone or email. I was beginning to feel like I’m just working from home so yesterday was an absolute treat. So much so, I’m trying to see if I could build in at least two days per month of just, pjs, food, craft, music and/or TV watching.
Come on! Join the crochet revolution — LOLOL! I honestly didn’t think beyond making giant cowls — I did that on Wednesday but there are definitely some super cute non-grandma looking patterns out there. And to tell the truth, even the grandma vintage look has its place if styled right.
Let me know if you get back in the crochet saddle!
