Gratitude Sunday

Today:

  • I’m feeling: good despite this sinus cold that’s trying to beat me down.
  • I’m listening to: the sounds of my T.V. and a Law & Order Criminal Intent Marathon
  • I’m thinking: of the natural cures I can use to lessen the sinus pressure I’m feeling.
  • I’m reading: The classic: A Little Princess – Frances Hodgson Burnett.  This is an amazing story of how to stay true to oneself and how to be kind and gracious, even while facing adversity.  A lesson for everyone — children and adults.

I’m looking forward to: receiving my first issue of Pom Pom magazine.  I’ve heard so many good things about it, I can’t wait to have it in my hands.

  • I’m learning: to take time to just relax.
  • I’m enjoying: the new short work weeks. The sunshine.  Taking long walks.  Drinking tea (despite the heat).  Fruit salad.
  • I’m creating: a crochet project for my Divination June 2014 class.
  • I’m grateful for: recognizing my inner warrior!  A lovely card sent to me from sunny Barbados by my online buddy Asha.  Card from AshaFinding these blocking mats at my local general goods store.  All you yarny fiends can identify with this joy.  I got this set for $9.99 and one mat is the size of — get this — four mats from the regular sized set that costs $39.99 and above!  Scorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre! New Blocking MatBeing able to supplement my wardrobe with two new maxi dresses.  Being forced to relax yesterday because of this cold.  I really needed to wind down.  The best news ever from my Dr. on Friday.  My blood sugar issues have been consistently stable and by the next visit, if I keep it up, I can come off meds!  😀
  • Around the house are:  mini messes in almost every room.    😳    You know how things get when you’re trying to battle a cold.
  • In my kitchen: nothing’s on my stove.  Once I feel better, my stove and I will be back on!  😀
  • I’m planning later in the coming week to: rest some more.  Bake some flourless cookies.  Work on my Flax Sweater.  Monitor my online time.

Gratitude Sunday

Today:

  • I’m feeling: really, really good.
  • I’m listening to: the sounds of the ambulance from the hospital close by.
  • I’m thinking of / wondering why: I haven’t heard the birds for a few days.
  • I’m reading: Havisham.  I’m having  a love/hate relationship with this book right now.  The pace is a little slower than I like but I can’t put it down.  It’s like a train-wreck.  LOLOL!  I can’t be done with it.
  • I’m looking forward to: a four day work week — every week for the rest of the summer!  😀
  • I’m learning to/practicing to/working on/embracing: stay strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
  • I’m enjoying: Cool summer breezes.  Hanging out with my cousin Sabs.  World Cup fever.  Cucumber lemonade. Gardening success and walks where I’m just being warmed by the sun.   Days where the atmosphere and temperature are just too awesome to not be outside.  Days like this:   NY Summer Day

  • I’m creating/planning to create: two baby blankets and finally my Flax sweater.  I failed to meet my half time goal but I’m still hoping to finish it by the end of July.
  • I’m grateful for: the best week I’ve had in a very long time!   Blooms outside my window from my urban fire escape garden. Blooms II  4 day work weeks.  Finding giant sized blocking mats at my local neighborhood store for 80% less than the original price.  Enjoying a great visit from my aunt this week.  Getting some good, restorative sleep.  Coming home to a wonderful card in the mail from my friend Rae.  ❤
  • Around the house are:  Open windows and scents of the produce I got yesterday at the farmer’s market.
  • In my kitchen: oven roasted sweet potatoes and baked salmon.
  • I’m planning later in the coming week to: put in some strong work on my Flax sweater.  Go for my annual post cancer checkup.  Send out some happy mail. Rest well. Walk some more. Read.  Catch up on my pod-cast listening.   Finish my Craftsy Short Rows class.
