WIP: Flash

“Flash” is my newest soon to be here babykins.  She’s supposed to get here in December and I want to make a blanket for her.  A blanket full of love and “across the states” Aunty D’nali’s cuddles since Flash will live in the Midwest and Aunty in NYC.   So for my boobiekins, I chose the this pattern.  I think it’s beautiful and it looked easy enough for a crochet newbie like me, so I got the yarn and decided to go with a semi-ombre look.   Since Hurricane Sandy rolled across the Northeast and left me house-bound yesterday and today, I decided to start working on Flash’s gift.  From round 1 – 4, I had it down, but rows 5 & 6 — OMG!!!  Obviously, I did something wrong so the blanket has a “twerk”, and it’s not staying flat — see photo evidence:

Oye, I’m going to rip it out and start over!!!!!  I am going to do this!!!  I am, I WILL!!!

Stay tuned for Round Two.

Current score: Blanket (1 sucker punch),  Me (0)

I’m using this post to link up with Tami today for W.I.P Wednesday.  Head over there and be inspired or even share your own WIPs.

That purple yarn is a knock out and will make a gorgeous blanket. Good luck!

Thanks Lady! I’m going to get some help but in the meantime, I’ve found another pattern that I’m hoping to do instead.

exciting, it is so much fun being an aunty! Great idea to stick to one colour and good luck with your battle, circles can be frustrating but you will crack it! X

I’m going to get this to work. I must and I will (although I’ve already found a different pattern for my Flash).

Love the purple matching crochet hook! Hope you’re able to work out the unplanned ripple … =D

Thanks SUM!!! That hook is that way by design. To help my hands, I made handle covers with polymer clay.

As for that blanket, I think in the interest of time I’m going to take my beat-down and move on to one I can actually finish. I’ll revisit this though when I get some crochet help.

Thank you so much for emerging from lurkerdom to grace me with two blog awards! I’m never the best at following the rules of these beauties but it is so nice to have your kind comment and have a chance to stop by and visit you. Glad to see you’re making the most of being housebound 🙂 There’s some footage on the BBC site about a cab driver saying for all those stuck at home in NYC and not directly adversely affected they’re all wondering what to do – my answer as I was watching him talk – was definitely MAKE SOMETHING!

I agree. LOLOL!!! I took my yarn, hooks and pointy sticks out since Saturday!!!!

      Thanks for visiting! 😀
