WIP Hiccup

So … what had happened was … after I came back from my vacation last Thursday, I cut my right index finger.  I mean really bad.  I went back and forth on if I should post what the cut look like but I didn’t think I should gross anyone out.  😛

That means that my Dolores Park cowl is still at the point it was last week and the crochet blanket I wanted to start for my cousin who’s having a baby in April will have to wait until my cut gets better in another week or two.  Yep, that’s how deep the cut is.  😦

So … I know it sucks … but here’s Dolores in her “same as last week WIP” state.  😀

and the pattern photo of the blanket I want to try.

It seems easy enough for a crochet newbie like me.  Although the stitch pattern is not actually a beginner one, I like a challenge.

Pop over to Tami’s to see the other WIP Wednesday projects.  There’s never a lack of inspiration — knit or crochet.

Cowl-Mania

I had a few days of relaxation at my friend’s house in PA.  My view from the window wasThe white “lines” in the mountains are the ski-slopes and it was a joy waking up to this every morning I was out there.  The last four days have been the most I’ve ever slept and relaxed with absolutely no concept of time since Christmas 2006.  I’m blessed to have a bff who can allow me to breathe in her house and with this breathing came what I call “Cowlmania”.  😀

In three days, I finished a double crochet cowl from the Lion-Brand website and started the Dolores Park one that I previously blogged about here.   Yes … stash diving for the yarn for this project turned up a winner but more about that next week  😛

To say that I’ve been a busy little bee is an understatement, so I’ll just let the pictures do the “tawking”.  😀

And in  progress Dolores Park Cowl (WIP) in hard to photograph red/orange:

This is almost done, will be by next F.O Friday so I’ll give more details on the project then.

Needless to say, I’m very excited with my crochet progress.  I know I have a long way to go but I feel great knowing that I’ve completed an entire project in less than a week after learning!!!!  😀  The crochet cowl was a pretty elementary project and even for a beginner like me, I finished this project in a little more than an hour.  The pattern link is here.

I’m using the crochet cowl F.O as my project for Tami’s F.O Friday Linky party … hop over there to see some other great projects from the participating crafters.
