WIP Hiccup

So … what had happened was … after I came back from my vacation last Thursday, I cut my right index finger.  I mean really bad.  I went back and forth on if I should post what the cut look like but I didn’t think I should gross anyone out.  😛

That means that my Dolores Park cowl is still at the point it was last week and the crochet blanket I wanted to start for my cousin who’s having a baby in April will have to wait until my cut gets better in another week or two.  Yep, that’s how deep the cut is.  😦

So … I know it sucks … but here’s Dolores in her “same as last week WIP” state.  😀

and the pattern photo of the blanket I want to try.

It seems easy enough for a crochet newbie like me.  Although the stitch pattern is not actually a beginner one, I like a challenge.

Pop over to Tami’s to see the other WIP Wednesday projects.  There’s never a lack of inspiration — knit or crochet.

1 – 2012: Herringbone Neck-Warmer

It’s almost the 15th of the month and I haven’t picked up my knitting needles.  Enough of that!!!

I found the perfect pattern to get me started this year — the Loops Yarn Herringbone Neck-Warmer.   This will also be the first project in my stash busting efforts.  I’m on a yarn-diet for the year — at least until October — but I’m sure I’ll be able to find yarn I can use in my very large stash.

The pattern seems quick, easy and I’ll be able to learn a knit stitch pattern and a new technique (creating button-holes) — perfect!!!!

Loops Yarn even has a clear, concise video showing how to produce the stitch pattern.  How much better can it get?  🙂
