Dyepot Stories

If you’re on IG, you would have seen these already:

I’ve been messing around with the dye pot, coming up with custom colors and just having a grand ole time!

The minis you saw in this this post, were totally experimented on and they became these:

and incidentally — my new blog header.   😀

I’m playing some more and will definitely be sharing — the successes and the failures.

What’s making you craft happy this summer?

Talk to me in the comments.  😀

Loving the sock yarn at the top. And the mini skeins too… they would make a great blanket or Missoni esque cowl. I would be seriously tempted if any of these were for sale. Not sure if that’s the direction you want to head, or if for personal enjoyment alone, but you have a talent here. Xxx

Your color sense is amazing Nicky!!!!!
Keep dyeing please and experimenting 🙂 Who knows maybe one day you’ll have your own etsy shop.
Have you ever listened to Gynx’s podcast “the dyers notebook”?
She includes interviewers with indie dyers! Very informative

      Thanks so much Amina. ❤

I've only listened to a few of the Dyer's Notebook episodes but I'll definitely take a closer listen.

Thank you for the confidence that I can actually dye yarn for sale.

Wow Nicky, such beautiful colors, I especially love the greens.

Thank you so much friend! Can you believe the greens were an accident. I tried to mix colors to get chartreuse and it broke into this wonderful concoction and gave me an ombre dye job instead. 😀

I am working on my fingering weight sweater mostly, and occasionally a blanket. Two big projects sure to keep me busy for the rest of the year. Loving the colours in the yarn. 🙂

Can’t wait to see the sweater done! I have a couple of things I need to get cracking on. Maybe that’s what I’ll do on the weekend. Go through my projects and set some deadlines. There’s just too much going on right now. Not that I’m complaining but I need to get stuff done. 😀

Deadlines do help, just make sure they are realistic! I started my sweater last year Nov but it got ignored for projects and commissions with fixed deadlines. Now I am trying to focus on it and get it finished before Nov. So it is project No. 1.

Deadlines work for me too. When I pay attention and don’t allow myself to be sidetracked. I definitely have to get on that by the end of the weekend. With so many things going, I’ll need to manage my time much better.

Thank you Veronica! I really have a good time doing this. 😀
