Sock Progress

During the post reno cleanup last week, it was a little difficult to find time to work on my first sock, but I did manage to get some work done on it.

I was able to finish the heel flap:

Heel Flapand complete the heel turn:

Heel TurnI have to say, the heel turn was not as difficult as I thought it would have been (unless of course I’m not doing something right … LOLOL!).Β  Since this is my first sock, I just followed the instructions as written.Β  I did have one extra stitch when I was done, but I figure I’d just fudge it and decrease it when I’m doing the gusset decreases.

This week coming up should give me some time in the evening to work on this one so my goal is to finish this by the upcoming weekend.

What are you working out now that the summer heat is hot, sweltering and sizzling?Β  πŸ˜€

Mine too! This week the most I did was take some yarn out of the bins to work on but it’s sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot this week! Can’t wait for the weekend when this heat wave breaks.

Awesome work lady! Socks are still a mystery to me. Maybe if I ever finished a sock project I started I would feel better about it, haha.

LOLOL! I know you could do it Knit Superstar! Why did I think you knit your b/f some socks before?

I figured since all the cool kids were doing it, I needed to try again. πŸ˜€

Well, you’re half right. I started knitting him socks and completed exactly half a pair. I should probably finish them before he starts to think that he’ll never get hand-knit socks in his lifetime.

Good call on just planning to decrease that one extra stitch. It’s no biggie. You’re making socks, not performing brain surgery πŸ™‚

Can I say how much I love your style? LOLOL! I laughed until I cried when I read your message — so true! I’m pretty much just wanting to really learn the construction — my goal is definitely not perfect socks the first time around although that would be awesome! Thanks so much for your encouragement! πŸ˜€

I almost left you off my Sock star list. I have since rectified that! Bravo on powering through your socks. Heel gussets are not that bad. Often time I have extra stitches but the are eventually decreased so it is no biggie! πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for the new Sockstar shout out Andi! You’re too kind! ♥

Glad to hear that my sock shero works her extra stitches the same way I’m going to. πŸ˜€
