This time last week, I was listening to the sounds of rain drip through my ceiling and window ledge in my bedroom and through my window ledge at my wall of windows in the living room. Because of the heavy rains and my management company not maintaining properly the building’s facade, my apt leaked … again. At least this time the water damage was less than the first time this happened.
That said, I have no WIP this week. Whomp, Whomp. 😦 Between the leak, moving and tossing ruined furniture — my antique wing chair covered in shantung silk 😦 –, having the apt redone, then all the cleaning, dusting, mopping and putting things back, I’m pooped. I picked up my needles during the construction after the leak to work on the petal edged scarf only to find that almost at the end of the first skein, there was a giant knot in the yarn that I couldn’t hide despite all my acrobatic moving/hiding/tucking. That was a big ughhhhhh , that made me decide to do the pattern in a different weight yarn. I’m just about finished the second repeat so I didn’t bother to take pics since those would have been the same as last week just in a different yarn.
It seems like for every week I participate in WIP Wednesday, the following week there’s some catastrophe or illness or craziness at work that prevents me from doing it the next week. I think there’s some kinda conspiracy to stop me from knitting but I will prevail!!!!!! 😀 😀 😀
Seriously though, I know life can get in the way sometimes; that makes me all the more appreciative of being able to knit. Knitting has become the thing I do to calm some of life’s storms.
Viva la knitting!!!!!!!! 😛 If you’ve popped in here today, sorry … nothing to see here … but there’s loads over at Tami’s. Go visit … what are you waiting for?
