It’s hard to believe …. it’s time for NYS Wool & Sheep Festival 2012! I’m not exactly sure what happened to the year why this event has rolled around so quickly … but hey … I’m not complaining.
This Saturday, I’ll be making the trip from Brick City Brooklyn, to beautiful upstate Rhinebeck. Since I have to get up before dawn then leave at the crack of dawn, might as well make the trip worthwhile eh! 😀 I want to utilise my time wisely since there’s so much to see and do. So many goodies to side-track a woman on a mission.
This year, my needs are less. Last year I was a newbie and wanted “errythang”! This year … errr … no! I want to venture into scary lace aka shawlette making and I’m going big! I want decadent, luxurious, beautiful fibre to make the patterns I’ve been lusting at. If I’m going to commit to scary lace, daggonnit … I’m gonna wear the finished piece. Other than that, I’m hoping to catch up with crochet maven extraordinaire Edie Eckman to purchase and have her sign a copy of her latest crochet book. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd, I’m hoping to pick up a niddy noddy or two (small & large). Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd since I’m also venturing into the very addictive world of spinning, I want to pick up some fibre too. I heard “Into The Whirled” might be a booth I want to take a peek in.
I’ve made my list, checked it twice, knowing with those fibre hungry crowds I can be naughty or nice, Dnali is going to Rhinebeck! Okay, so the last line didn’t rhyme, Santa’s didn’t either, so don’t shoot me 😛
The yarn recon mission that I’m going on will be for these patterns:
Mardi Gris: pattern & image source
Honey Cowl: pattern & image source
The Age of Brass & Steam: pattern & image source
Cedar Leaf Shawlette: pattern & image source
Garden View Shawlette: pattern & image source
I think that’s it for this mission! My goal is to stay focus and accomplish what I need to! I’ll be back for de-briefing on Sunday (all being well)! If you’re going to be there, have a blast and say hi if you see me! If not, send me some money stretching mojo! 😀
