Through my window, I can already see nature’s Fall changes. The leaves are starting to brown. The sun is setting earlier. And cooler, chiller temperature is already in play. Even my body rhythms have started to slow down and this year I’m excited to nest and enjoy the slow movements of Fall and Winter.
A big change for me is that as at last Tuesday, I’ve re-entered the work world. After exactly 11 months of job hunting, I landed a gig the Friday before Labor Day and started right after. For anyone who’s been unemployed (not by choice), you know the relief it brings in all aspects of your life to finally be able to join the masses heading to work every day. I already know that the new company is not a place that I’m going to plant roots in, but I’m grateful for the opportunity and what it allows me to do personally, professionally and creatively. I didn’t get a chance to send personal messages/text to all of you who have been so kind in so many different ways while I was job hunting; I honestly didn’t expect to start as soon as I did and the week flew away from me. So I’ll say here … Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! From the bottom of my heart! I couldn’t have made it through the UE period as well as I have without your unwavering support and prayers. You know who you are. ❤
Going back to work means that I’m going to have to use my free time creatively. So instead of packing in fifty million things and tasks in the time I have, I’m getting ready to: slow down and create my own Fall traditions, enjoy longer nights and quieter days, take long walks in the cooler temps, make time to read more, enjoy seasonal foods and soups, celebrate fully the upcoming holidays and create steadily, without rushing or being pressed by deadlines.
Fall (Autumnal Equinox) begins on Wednesday 23rd Sept, 2015; here’s to a wonderful season for each of us!
❤ ❤ ❤
I'm going to borrow your fall traditions and incorporate them into my everyday so that I can savor each moment rather than treat this time like an infinite to-do list 🙂 And above all, Praise God for your job!!
Yes indeed! Praise God indeed. This job is another chapter in my story and I can’t wait to see where He leads.
Yesterday, I put out my decor, turned the lights off and enjoyed the view and smells. Feels good to create the life I want instead of just surviving. 😀
What a beautifully written post! Makes me feel so mellow and toasty inside. 🙂
And congrats on your new job! Such a great feeling!!
Your comment makes me warm and toasty inside. Thanks so much friend.
Yes indeed — the new job really did take a weight off my shoulders.
That’s wonderful news! Good luck and make sure you still get your crafty time in for balance!
Thanks so much Kate! ❤
I need to stay crafty; I definitely need a better balance than what I had with the last job.
So glad for you. You’ve been in my prayers. I’m looking forward to hearing more about your fall traditions. Definitely taking more time to relax and enjoy the moments.
Thank you so much for your prayers and kind thoughts lady!!! I’m glad that you’re still on the quest to relax and enjoy every day moments. ❤
Congratulations! I think you know that for me, the last three school years, I have not known from the end of one school year to the beginning of the next if I would have a job/be working. I feel for you. Eleven months is a long time. God was with you the whole way. Praise him!
He really was! In ways I did not expect or could imagine. This new chapter has its issues too but I’m confident that He will continue to be steadfast as He always is. The time out was long in some ways and short in some … I’m just glad it’s behind me.
Congrats! I know how stressful unemployment can be, I’m sure it’s a relief.
It really is. Thanks so much friend. 🙂
Congratulations, dear Nicky! I am so so happy for you!!! Wishing you all teh best on this new journey!
Thanks so much love! I’m ready to get in there and roll up my sleeve so I can learn as much as I can!
congrats to you, i’m so happy that you are back in the workforce!! your description of how you’ll spend your fall season makes me feel relaxed just reading it 🙂
You’re the best Rae! Thanks so much for your support and encouragement. I think I’m going to add reduced t.v watching to the list. That’ll be tough since I want to stay up on the election race but sometimes the t.v. clamoring is just too much.
This is a huuuge YAY post!
You lady … I can’t thank you enough! For everything! ❤
We're back in business this week; the email update will be in your box by Wednesday. 😀
Aaaalways!
God is good! I am so happy for you Nicky and can read the happiness in your words.
Fall is slowly making its way here, the humidity is down this morning and my hair isn’t a crazy mess.
Enjoy a wonderful slow day!
Yes He is indeed! And if I ever forget that I’d be the most ungrateful person ever! The time out was tough but He showed Himself providing my every need.
.
It was a little warm here last week too but seems like the change is here now. I laughed at your hair experience because I have the same issue. Humidity makes my very poofy … not a good look now that it’s super short so I got a wig yesterday. 😀
I am very happy for you. Best of luck now and always!
Thanks so very much Shirley. I really do appreciate your kind thoughts and support. ❤
Wohooooo!!! Prsise God. 🙂 looking forward to seeing you balance the two and excel at both!
Yes ma’am …. praise God indeed! Thanks so much for your prayers and support. I couldn’t have done this without you. ❤
