Journaling 2015: The Journey So Far …

Prompt: In 3 sentences, describe the impact of a momentous decision or event in your life and your current feelings about it.

Disclaimer: 3 sentences don’t seem to be enough to describe my moving to the US without my immediate family and how I feel about my life 15 years post move. It was tough to go through, difficult in some ways to process (that’s why it took me so long to write) but here it goes:

I left home with so many plans, goals, and dreams; life hasn’t turned out to be what I thought it would be here …. so far …
15 years later, on my move anniversary (2/27) I didn’t expect to be dealing with health issues, unemployment, some feelings of failure and displeasure at particular aspects of my current living situation; makes me question why am I here.
But since one is never too old for dreams or goals, with every day being a chance for new beginnings, with God’s mercies being renewed daily … each day that I live, I’ll get up and continue to work towards some of the old dreams and a few new ones.

Here’s to the next 15 … better beyond all I can ask for or think of.

I always think that I’ve buried my old dreams in frustration and disappointment….but then they spring up again unexpected, renewed by God’s mercies! Isn’t it nice to know that He brings so much hope, even if we do not know what to hope for? I’ll raise my glass (of chamomile tea!) to the next 15 with you 🙂

While you may not be where you envisioned yourself, you may be blinded to all that you have accomplished that you haven’t accounted for. You are amazing in all that you have done and will do. Your are an inspiration to many, Nicky.
