I think just about everyone and their mothers recognize this line — “no wire hangers everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!” from the movie “Mommie Dearest”. While Mommie D (as I like to call her) might have hated wire hangers for clothes, she would certainly approve of this project. I got my decorations at a discount store in my neighborhood last year — 50 balls for $2.99 …. errrr … hello!!!!! You’ll need about 80; I combined that purchase with other shades of purple decorative balls I had previously. I got the hated wire hanger from the cleaners and I was ready to go!!! After dinner today, I got cracking.
I’d read the tutorial a couple of years ago on Eddie Ross’ website and really loved the results. It’s so easy a project, even non-DIYers can do it! I loosely followed the instructions. I didnt glue my tops like he did; they were firm enough to stay on without having to go through that step. I also did not wrap the top of my hanger the way he did. When stringing the decorations, I didn’t plan, I just started stringing them on in random order, using the smaller ones to fill in any spaces. Then in a matter of about 30 mins … I got my tadahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
I was so excited by the results, I couldn’t even wait for better light to photograph it!!! 😀
I’d love to see if you make one too! Let me know if you try it!!! I’m ready for Christmas — a Christmas that has space even for wire hangers!!!! 😛
Well done you! This is just perfectly festive.

You’re more than welcome. Let me know if you make one too! 😀
