Swap Joy!!!!

Welp … I got my package this morning!  This is from the last swap of the year with my Ravelry Knit Picks Swap group and I LOVE it!!!!

My partner stuffed this envelope … I wanted y’all to see how much tape she used to keep it closed! LOLOL!!! She sent me some Caron Simply Soft (which I’ve never tried before) that’ll be FANTASTIC to use while I work on my toy-making skills!

These two are from the Vickie Howell Sheepish line. A great blend of wool and acrylic — I can see a colourwork hat in my future with these two. I used to hate pink but it’s grown on me. I love what she sent together with this sexy purple!

She also sent me this FUN, FUNKY Christmas tree project bag. I LOOOOOOOOOVE this!!! First it’s blue, now it’s purple. Blue, purple, blue purple … LOLOLOL!!!! 😀

I also got some fun stitch markers, extra crochet hooks, a packet of AWESOME bronze beads (that I could possibly use for the shawl pattern she sent), needle covers and a tiny clothespin that I’m going to use to hold my patterns in place on my board. I also got lip gloss in an amazing shade of bronze!!!! I can’t wait to wear it!

Then my piece de resistance:

Knitpicks Stroll in Pearlescent Tonal!!! Awesome! It’s an oyster shade with hints of pink, beige, and green. It does remind me of my auntie’s pearls! I can’t wait to find the perfect pattern for it!!!!

We were all supposed to send Fall and Christmas recipes so my swap partner also added two of her fave recipes: Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini that’s a winter staple in her house AND for the liquor lover in me — Bourbon Pecan Pie, that’s her own recipe!!! Yummsers.

She stalked me to the death and found out that I am a Harry Potter lover then sent me the Hogwarts Express shawl pattern.

Thank you so much Swap partner! This was an awesome way to start my very, very rainy Saturday!!!! ❤

    Oh what lovely gifts!

Hmm… stop tempting me with these swap groups. *Wanders off trying not to think of all the neat little items and things I could make for a swap buddy.

Oh the Caron Simply Soft works up very nicely. I’ve used it for toys and some clothing items (hat, gloves, and scarf) for my father. I know my mom would not be thrilled if I knitted him something that required special care. Dad needs something that will take abuse, heh.

Thanks for dropping by Opal! 😀

I totally understand what you mean … there are some people that I’d never use hand-wash yarn for. It just wouldn’t be practical!!!

Thanks also for the Caron recommendation. I actually said in my swap questionnaire that I was working on my toy making skills so she sent me some yarn to get started with. It’s good to know that it works well for that. 🙂

You are one lucky lady! The reversible project bag is so cute, the yarns are lovely, and the recipes sound yummy! I think that I need to join in a swap soon 🙂
