2024 Round Up & Happy New Year

2024 was interesting to say the least. I got some unexpected opportunities in the midst of “life”. This year:

I taught my little cousin Z to knit. She caught on fast and made a kitchen washcloth for her mom for Christmas. As I type up this post, she has switched from straights to interchangeable needles and will be learning the purl stitch today. From Youtube, she taught herself the backwards loop and the crochet cast on. This Aunty/cousin is so proud of her little student.

I haven’t been posting much but I’ve been crafting and teaching:

  • My little cousin’s dishcloth for her mom’s Christmas gift
  • I tested knitted for Tamy Gore: the Cross Keys Cowl and her Sunset Harbor Cowl
  • I grew dahlias
  • I’m not a fan of commercially prepped merino so I have 7lbs of this beauty to process in 2025.
  • And, I can also add tutor to my list of fiber skills. I participated in NJ Fibershed’s Romney breed study and was their presenter for May 2024.

There is so much to say about 2024, but I’ll piece some of those thoughts out as I get back to blogging here more regularly.

I hope 2024 was what you needed it to be, if not, whatever it was, I hope you were able to find some pockets of joy.

Wishing you and yours, an amazing 2025 despite whatever challenges you face.
